Electricity Short-circuit Dominates Fire Cases in East Jakarta

East Jakarta Fire and Rescue Sub-agency’s Fire and Rescue Division Head Gatot Sulaeman has recorded that fire cases are mostly triggered by electricity short-circuit with a total of 23 out of 30 cases in sub-districts throughout May.

After electricity short-circuit, other highest causes are stoves (2 cases) and other causes (5 cases)

According to him, burning objects are dominated by in house buildings (11 cases), industrial building (2 cases), vehicles (4 cases), burning waste (1 case), outdoor installation (8 cases), stall (1 case) and other objects (3 cases)

"After electricity short-circuit, other highest causes are stoves (2 cases) and other causes (5 cases)," he expressed, Wednesday (6/3).

He added as many as 120 people or 17 families have lost their homes and the estimated loss reaches Rp 1,045,250,000.

"In total, 110 fire engines have been alerted to handle fire cases during May," he closed.
